AOA‘s Seolhyun recently sat down with DAZED Magazine to talk about how she was able to learn to love herself while surviving as a top celebrity in this cut-throat business.
She revealed that she tries not to get caught up in other people’s opinions. Her job may depend on it but she doesn’t let it affect her identity. Through her hard work, she was able to find true self-love and confidence.
I try not to get caught up in what others think, as well as my job that requires other people’s interest. I realized how important it was to love myself in order to achieve that.
I wanted the freedom to express what I wanted instead of being cautious about others’ opinions. Through that, I was able to respect myself and learn to love myself.

As the entertainment industry could be overwhelming, the interviewer asked if she ever feels like running away from everything. Instead of running away from her problems, Seolhyun is the type to do more soul searching to solve a bigger issue.
During those times, I try to dig deeper into the impossible issues. I’m not the type to suddenly explode.
