A Male Superior Asked Ailee If She Was Retiring After He Noticed That She Gained Weight
On the most recent episode of MBC’s Video Star, Ailee opened up about the time she was hurt by something a male superior said when she was a little heavier than usual.
Ailee shared that she had such a busy schedule with almost no time to spare during those times.
She then revealed the reason behind her weight gain by explaining, “Once I finish all of my schedules and get home late at night, I have to eat my first meal, so I had no choice but to gain weight.”
But what’s shocking is that during those days, a male superior of hers went up to her and asked, “What are you trying to do? Are you getting ready to retire?”
Ailee confessed that this hurt her feelings and made her wonder if she had to maintain her figure more than her singing voice.
Shin Ji, who was listening to Ailee’s story, sympathized with her and added, “When I was heavier, people called me too fat, and now that I’m lighter, people say I’m too skinny. They tell me to find the middle ground, but I don’t know what that is.”
