Uee Opens up About the Career Downfall She Faced After Losing Weight
On a recent episode of tvN’s Life Bar, Uee, who is currently starring in the KBS2 weekend drama, My Only One, opened up about what her diet did to her career.
Uee started off by sharing that the phrase, “It will pass” was what she thought of every time she was going through a hard time and brought up the negative comments she received when she lost weight ahead of her acting debut.
She confessed that she received a lot of comments telling her to gain her weight back, and she expressed her frustration that gaining weight won’t take her back to the old days and even added that she stopped getting commercial offers after she lost weight.
Uee also shared, “I’m the type to hold things in. I wouldn’t have cared if I was a normal person, but because I’m a celebrity, my family had to suffer, too. As a result, I try even harder to stay positive.”
In response to Uee’s confession about her hard times, the other cast of the show comforted her with words such as “With the amount of experience you have already, you don’t have to worry about that kind of stuff” and “All female actresses go through this“.
