The Success in K-Pop is Due to BTS, According to Financial Analyst
According to Yoo Seongman, a financial analyst at Hyundai Finance, the success we see in K-Pop is an effect of BTS‘s actions.
The success we see in K-Pop is caused by the trickle-down effect caused by BTS.
He acknowledges artists like PSY who brought attention to K-Pop with his hit song “Gangnam Style“, but he claims that the popularity only benefited PSY himself.
The success of BTS, however, brings awareness to other K-Pop artists through YouTube.
Yoo believes that BTS’s new album and comeback will allow the Hallyu wave to boom even more.
He also mentions that if this comeback will be successful, the image of K-Pop could be improved. He claims that the image of K-Pop was brought down due to the Burning Sun-Seungri scandal.
He also claims that their new comeback could have a positive impact on investor sentiment on related stocks.
Hopefully, BTS can have a successful comeback! BTS’s will have their comeback with “Boy With Luv“. The track will be released April 12, 2019, at 6 PM KST.
