EXO’s D.O. And IU Win Most Popular Actor And Actress At The 55th Baeksang Arts Awards
The 55th Baeksang Arts Awards 2019 will be held on May 1, 9pm KST. However, the winners for one of the most anticipated categories have already been revealed.
EXO‘s D.O. and IU have won the Most Popular Actor and Actress respectively at the 55th Baeksang Arts Awards.
The popularity awards are called the “VLIVE Favorite Artist” awards, and are selected via voting for the artist through the VLIVE website.
D.O. won the most popular male artist this year with 50.04% of the the 361,105 votes. D.O.’s acting ability became well-known after starring in the historical romance drama, 100 Days My Prince.
Of the back of D.O.’s stunning acting, 100 Days My Prince became the 5th highest-rated Korean drama in cable television history.
IU starred in the melodrama My Ahjussi, and received 53.2% of 145,548 votes.
The final episode of Mr Ahjussi recorded a 7.352% nationwide audience share according to Nielsen Holdings, making the episode one of the highest rated in Korean cable television history.
The 55th Baeksang Arts Awards is set to be broadcast live on JTBC and hosted by Shin Dong Yup, Suzy, and Park Bo Gum.
